This plant is a great addition to any bouquet, providing a unique shimmer with its glossy, bead-like seed pods. With its dense branching, it can produce multiple cuts over a long period of time. The flowers start off as a bright pink and quickly mature into deep red, chocolate, and copper colored seed pods. While the small pink flowers are not suitable for cutting, the stems can be harvested when they turn dark red and the majority of flowers have transformed into seed pods. The compact, mounding plant features attractive lime green foliage and is both heat and drought resistant. Additionally, the leaves of this plant can be eaten and offer a mild flavor and succulent texture. This plant is also commonly referred to as fame flower.
